 My Story

Written in January 2010

When I started putting my gastronomic thoughts on the Internet in the autumn of 2008, people all over the world were kind enough to send their comments and questions.  Even with the occasional Skype conversations, this led to the desire to discuss things at the table. To achieve that it was a matter of joining two food and drink societies.

One of them you know from the previous pages [IWFS].  The other is  The Chaine des Rotisseurs.

The obvious shared factor relating to the members of both societies is interest in food and drink.  Perhaps less obvious until one has joined them, is that members are very friendly, keen to talk about food and drink, and keen to enjoy it  in pleasant company.  My wife and I were made most welcome at events of both societies.  Officers and members did not emphasise or boast  their knowledge and gastronomic wisdom.  These were natural characteristics.
