Craving?


This website explores many aspects of food and eating.  An underlying theme is that burgers have replaced roast-beef meals, the latter once made in the home.


 The eat-on-the-run consumer.  

 
   


"Carving" is a shorthand way of suggesting that the family or group of friends enjoy time at the table, the food and drink, and everyone there.  Someone has planned the meal and may have given thought as to who will sit next to whom.


"Craving" sums up western society in so many ways.  Buy today, pay tomorrow.  "Two-for-one" bargains succesfully appeal to the craving instinct.  Convenience and junk food do the same.  Walk-in, stand-up-and-eat food outlets are only slightly better than ambulant gastronomy or eating and walking down the street.  Is this the best we can do with our food?


For the moment, the answer is a lemon.  It's a sharp reminder that many have lost the art of enjoying food to its maximum.
